"Doctor" LeRoy Harrison Carhart is Nebraska's notorious partial birth abortionist. He travels to Wichita at least once a month to kill babies for Tiller.
For several years Carhart sold aborted baby parts to the University of Nebraska for use in research. Carhart gained worldwide fame when he fought Nebraska's ban on partial birth abortion. He took his fight all the way to the U.S. Supreme Court which ruled largely in his favor (Carhart vs. Stenberg). Carhart is now fighting the new Federal ban on partial birth abortion.
Carhart is a native of New Jersey.
Carhart owns an abortion clinic near Omaha.

In the early 1990s, Carhart opened his abortion facility in a space he rented above an auto shop in this split-level building. The auto shop later moved out. For a while, LeRoy and his wife Mary lived on the lower floor of the building under his abortion clinic. After a lawsuit with the landlord, they now own the building.
A FAMILY AFFAIR
LeRoy's wife Mary Lou Carhart manages the office at their Nebraska abortion clinic. She also accompanies LeRoy on most trips to Tiller's clinic in Wichita. Sometimes she helps around Tiller's clinic doing odd jobs.

Mary Lou supports and encourages LeRoy's abortion business. LeRoy has said,
"I don't feel alone because she's there. And I wouldn't try to do this if she wasn't there."
LeRoy and Mary Lou attended the private party at the Governor's Mansion held by Governor Kathleen Sebelius in April 2007.

Their daughter Janine E. Carhart is also involved in their Nebraska abortion business.
